Love Is As Dangerous As The Sea.

(After a couple of days in the sea, land looks to be a bit different.)

“The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore”

- Vincent van Gogh

Love is as enticing and as dangerous as the sea.

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It's always our self we find in the sea.

- e.e. cummings

I search the sea -
And found the sea.

Till I Loved I Never Lived - Enough.

(In the mood for love.)

"Till I loved I never lived—enough."

- Emily Dickenson

There can be no need for more to be said.

- Ghostwise.

~~~~~~~~~~"
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
- Alfred Tennyson
Lovers try to console themselves the love is worth the sorrow in order not to lose everything.
Praising Makes The Remembrance Dear.
(Today, I was at a lost so I turned to Shakespeare...)
Praising what is lost Makes the remembrance dear.
- William Shakespeare
And makes the lost all the more painful.
- Ghostwise
~~~~~~~~~~"

Wise men never sit and wail their loss, but cheerily seek how to redress their harms.

- William Shakespeare

Not to sit and wail your loss but to seek to redress their harms, that is wise. But cheerily? That. Mr. Shakespeare, is asking too much!

We Sang The Same Old Lang Syne.

(Yesterday's lost, I still feel today. So I've another day of tribute as I remembered The Same Old Lang Syne).

We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to now

And tried to reach beyond the emptiness but neither one knew how

We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to time

Reliving in our eloquence, another 'auld lang syne'

The beer was empty and our tongues were tired

And running out of things to say

She gave a kiss to me as I got out and I watched her drive away

Just for a moment I was back at school

And felt that old familiar pain

And as I turned to make my way back home

The snow turned in to rain...

- Dan Folgeberg, Same Old Lang Syne from the Album The Innocent Age, 1981

We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to time
Feel that old familiar pain, as we sang the Same Old Lang Syne.

When you’re not near me
The time don’t seem to move as easy

When you’re not near me

The sun don’t seem to feel the same

The days don’t shine as brightly

And the nights don’t taste as sweet

And this soul of mine feels

lost and incomplete.

- Dan Folgeberg, When You're Not Near Me from the Album Full Circle, 2003

When you're not near me
I fill the space with your music.

I Once Had A Sweet Little Doll Dears.

(Today I went for a Japanese Kokeshi (wooden doll) exhibition. Love them and wood is my favorite material for dolls. Watch out for it in a future post in Ghost Walk. Meanwhile, today's post is dedicated to the dolls we grew up with.)

I once had a sweet little doll dears,
The prettiest doll in the world...

- The Lost Doll by Charles Kingsley

But I grew up, dears,
And the little doll didn't.

“Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of proportion a child's loss of a doll and a king's loss of a crown are events of the same size”

- Mark Twain

And more often than not, the child's loss is less deserving.
